Parkinson’s Community Respite Care

BIG NEWS: Respite funding is now available through Parkinson’s Community Network!

What is respite? Respite care comes in many forms and provides essential relief for caregivers, allowing them to rest and recharge, while ensuring that their loved ones receive professional and compassionate care, enhancing overall well-being for both parties.

Quoting one of Parkinson’s Community Network members: “It took me a long time to recognize that you cannot be a good caregiver, if you do not take good care of yourself. Respite care is an absolute necessity for caregivers.”

The reality is that many caregivers may not recognize or want to admit that they need the help. They may be too busy being a caregiver to take the time to think about it.

As a group the Parkinson’s Community Network were able to raise funds to go towards caregiver relief and thanks to our very generous community their fundraising was a success and are now able to provide financial relief for respite care.

Caregivers interested in pursuing this opportunity, please fill out the eligibility form and return to PEP – Seniors Therapeutic Centre located in Perth at 12 Elliot Street or by email: [email protected].

Those applying for the respite care should live within the catchment of Lanark County and surrounding area. As well, applicants will be required to complete a summary form outlining how the funds were used.
